A Local Village in Your Neighborhood? – May 15th

Arlington Neighborhood Villages (ANV) has been providing services to residents throughout the county from its central office for over a month.

Our operational model includes the establishment of a network of local villages throughout Arlington working with the central office.  These local villages will provide both an enhanced level of activities as well as increase the number of volunteers providing services to members from their own neighborhood.  We currently have several neighborhoods in the county which are at various stages of establishing local villages, but we need more.

If you are at all interested in learning more about working with others to organize a local village in your neighborhood, join us at our Local Village Workshop on May 15th.  You may even want to bring a friend.  The program will include a short presentation on the basics, followed by group discussions with others considering establishing local villages.  There will be representatives from local villages currently in development who will work with the groups.  The workshop not only will provide you the basic tools and materials, but will establish the basis for ANV to support you in your efforts.

This is an opportunity for you to find out about what is involved; you are not committing to anything by attending the workshop.  You can let us know if you are planning on attending by emailing us at localvillages@arlnvil.org or calling the ANV office at 703-509-8057.  If you didn’t have time to contact us, please come to the workshop anyway.

The Local Village Workshop will be held Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 6 – 8 pm at the Madison Community Center, located at 3829 N Stafford St, Arlington, VA 22207.
