ANV members and volunteers are invited to sign up for a tour of this iconic building located on the Beltway in South Kensington, MD. Please register by April 29 by emailing office@arlnvil.org or calling 703-509-8057. Sign-up is limited to 20 persons, including five drivers who are willing to take passengers. The tour is free, but entry can only be made with availability of timed parking passes. ANV has five parking passes for entry between 12:00 and 12:30. Drivers will leave Arlington at 11:30 and return by 2:30 or 3:30, depending on whether or not the driver and passengers stop for lunch (see below). The Open House is a 40-minute, self-guided, walking tour of the interior of the Temple going from room to room and floor to floor. Multiple stairs are included and elevators are available if needed. The Temple is wheelchair accessible. No picture taking is allowed inside, but photos can be taken outside the Temple where there will be people available to answer questions. Visitors are encouraged to watch a 10-minute introductory video prior to arrival to the tour, available on the Temple website. The video explains why the religion builds temples and how worship there brings comfort and peace to worshipers.

Note to drivers: The 30-minute (12:00 to 12:30) time frame for arrival is so that you have time to park. Try to come at the beginning of that window and present the parking pass to the parking staff. If applicable, please also have your disability placard clearly displayed. There is no time limit for you to move your vehicle; you do not need to leave within the 30-minute window once you are parked. You and your passengers may stay at the Temple for the length of your visit until you are ready to leave. Parking passes are available at the ANV Office.

Optional Lunch: For those who want to have lunch afterwards, the Pacci’s Tratoria & Pasticceria in Silver Spring, MD is about a 5-minute drive from the Temple. Housed in a historic general store, this wood-beamed eatery dishes out traditional Italian cooking. When signing up, please indicate if you want to join for lunch after the tour.
