Have you ever wondered how the Library chooses which titles end up in the Library collection?

Do you have an interest in genealogy or your local neighborhood’s history?

Would you be interested to hear Arlington’s Library Director talk about the future of libraries?

Come join your fellow Arlington Neighborhood Villages book lovers on a behind the scenes tour of Arlington’s Central Library, and a chat with the Library Director, Diane Kresh, on the future of libraries in the digital age (or any other topics you want to raise with her).  Learn more about the resources available in the Center for Local History, find out how the staff decides what books and other materials to add to the library’s collection, tour the behind-the-scenes operation where book donations are taken in by the Friends of the Library and all incoming materials are received and processed, and much more.

This event is open to Villages members only.  Advance registration is required; register early as space is limited.  Call the office to register, and request a ride if needed (703-509-8057), or email register@arlnvil.org.  When you register, you will be notified of the gathering point in Central Library for the tour.
