In his book, “Collecting Shakespeare,” Stephen Grant recounts the American success story of Henry and Emily Folger, a couple who were devoted to one another, in love with Shakespeare, and bitten by the collecting bug. They left the largest Shakespeare collection in the world in an elegant marble building two blocks from the U.S. Capitol. Stephen will tell the story of how they did it and will share the marvels of the Folger Shakespeare Library, which continues today to be a vibrant center for theater, concerts, and lectures as well as a monument to the Bard. Light refreshments will be served.
