A memorial is created space to remember, commemorate, instruct, inspire, and to heal. This Zoom program will virtually visit memorial places in Washington which include popular known spaces like the FDR Memorial and the MLK Memorial, as well as some lesser known spaces including the Titanic Memorial, the Native American Veterans Memorial, the Confederate Memorial at Arlington Cemetery. Join Dr. Kathleen Bashian, a Certified Master Guide in Washington and a popular Smithsonian study leader, on this memorial pilgrimage, teaching us why a memorial was created and interpreting what it does for those who visit this space.
