Coffee and Conversation

05/26/2021 @ 10:00 am – 11:00 am

Zitkala Sa’s extraordinary life and achievements will be described by Arlington historian Toby McIntosh. From the Yankton Indian Reservation in Dakota Territory, Zitkala Sa learned to navigate dual cultures, influencing government policies while pursuing a creative life. Throughout it all, she was an activist for equality and preserving Native American culture. Her life and achievements are memorialized in a park in Lyon Park formerly named for Henry Clay.
