It Takes a Village to Make a Village!
Volunteers are essential to making our county-wide village work and we welcome adult volunteers of all ages! We will work with you to match our members’ needs to your preferences, schedules, and skills – providing transportation, running errands, assisting with light home repairs, technology, and more. As a volunteer, you’ll receive training to provide services for Arlington Neighborhood Village members.
You can also lend your expertise to help with marketing, fundraising, enhancing back office support, and planning events and programs for members, and more.
Volunteer to be a member of ANV’s Board of Directors –
You can have an impact in helping ANV grow stronger, more diverse, and more effective. We are seeking two or three new directors to join our Board of Directors. If you — or someone you know — has a passion for our mission and is willing to help lead our volunteer, non-profit organization, please let us know. The Board Announcement is here or you may call Anita Wallgren at (703) 528-7801 for more information.
While you contribute to the well-being of our members, you can achieve a feeling of personal accomplishment through:
- Effecting positive change in the lives of your neighbors;
- Meeting new people and widening your circle of friends and acquaintances;
- Developing and strengthening connections to your community;
- Increasing your knowledge of your community and its resources;
- Learning new skills and developing new interests.
We look forward to working together to accomplish our mission of enabling Arlington seniors to remain in their homes and communities as they age—safely, independently, and with an enhanced quality of life.
Getting started: Complete the Volunteer Application Form. You may also contact us at email@example.com, or call 703-509-8057. We will schedule a time to meet with you to gather further information about your interests and answer any questions you may have.
Training: All volunteers receive orientation on village policies and program guidelines. Volunteers who work directly with our members receive additional training. This training must be completed before a volunteer assignment can be made.
Background check: If you will be delivering services directly to members, an independent company will conduct a criminal background check. If you are volunteering to provide transportation, your driving record will also be checked, and you must show us your driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance.
No time to volunteer? You can also participate by making a donation. Donations can be directed to the Arlington Neighborhood Village General Fund which allows us to expand the programs and services that we offer to our members, and/or to the Arlington Neighborhood Village Financial Aid Fund which helps us achieve our goal of serving all Arlington residents.
Thank you for volunteering for Arlington Neighborhood Village!
