Just two blocks from the Courthouse Metro (Orange Line). Metered parking is also available in the lot across the street from the Courthouse and Detention Facility.

We will meet at 9:45 am in the lobby of the Detention Facility where we will meet our Captain guide. The tour lasts approximately 90 minutes, depending on the number questions asked.

Everyone must arrive with a government-issued ID. You will not be permitted into the facility without an ID. Please do not bring anything with you into the facility – no purses, backpacks, cell phones, etc. are allowed. Lockers are available for a small fee or you will have to secure your items prior to arriving for the tour.

During our recent Coffee and Conversation with Sheriff Beth Arthur, many of us were surprised to find out about the number and quality of the County’s services and programs provided to adults and young adults who reside in the facility. Sheriff Arthur has invited us to get an insider’s look at the facility, so we can see for ourselves how the County takes care of its inmate population. Please RSVP by January 19th as space is limited to 25 persons for the tour. When you RSVP, you must provide your date of birth along with your email and/or phone number. Your name must be on our RSVP list or you will not be allowed to participate in the tour. Please let us know if you have an interest in having lunch after the tour. We are exploring options close to the Detention Facility and will contact attendees directly. Open to members and volunteers.
